Welcome to Class 6/1

The Students | The Teacher

Welcome to Class 6/1 at Sriwittayapaknam School in Thailand. We are a friendly class and we always welcome visitors. Please feel free to come in and visit our class by clicking on any of the following links. We learn internet once a week on Wednesdays. Usually we upload onto the internet often, so please do come and visit us again. For the record we started work on this class homepage towards the end of May 1999. All of the students have their own e-mail account. They can be reached by typing their name and @thaistudents.com

Meet the Students Everyone in the class has written an introduction about themselves. There are also pictures which we have brought in from home and scanned.

Meet the Teacher There are not many primary schools in Thailand with a foreign teacher. Take a look to see what he thinks of his class and what it is like teaching in Thailand.

Visit our City and Province We live in Samut Prakarn. It is about 30 kms south of Bangkok near the sea.

Learning Physical Education (P.E.) Pictures of us learning in the school gym.

Lunchtime We eat lunch in the classroom. Take a look at the school menu.

Afternoon Break The last lesson finishes at 3.10 p.m. However, everyone stays for an extra lesson between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Usually our teacher lets us go for a break, but sometimes we have to do extra work in the break time. Once a week we all take turns to do classroom duty. This involves cleaning the classroom.

Classroom Duty Everyone helps to keep the classroom nice and tidy. We take turns being on duty. We do things like: collect the milk, wash the cutlery after lunch, carry down the plates and waste food to the kitchen, carry up the drinking water to the classroom, clean the blackboard, sweep and mop the floor and empty the rubbish bins.

We often receive e-mail from students around the world asking questions about school-life. Our e-mail address is class6-1@thaistudents.com

Did You Know.....?

When we eat at school we always use a spoon and fork. We never use a knife. Our classroom doesn't have heaters as it is already very hot. We have fans to keep us cool. We have to sweep and mop the classroom floor every day. After lunch we have to wash our own utensils. We only have two terms in one school year. Term 1 is from May to October. We don't have any mid term breaks, only public holidays. Everyone in Thailand learns Scouts at school. We are not allowed to wear shoes in the classroom.
